Welcome to the Wolf of Sinai community! We are excited to have you join us on this journey through Egypt’s rich history. To ensure that our forum remains a productive and respectful environment, we have established this Code of Conduct. By participating in this community, you agree to uphold the following guidelines:
1. Language Policy
Wolf of Sinai is an international community, and to ensure clear communication among all members, we require that all posts, materials, and discussions be conducted in English. This helps maintain a unified platform where everyone can engage and participate.
- English-Only: All text-based content, including forum posts, comments, and written materials, must be in English. This ensures that all members, regardless of their location, can understand and contribute to the discussion.
- Exceptions for Cultural and Historical Representation: Images or art that represent Egyptian culture or history may contain Arabic text as part of their cultural or historical significance. However, any descriptions or explanations accompanying the artwork must still be provided in English to maintain accessibility for all users.
- Videos in Arabic: If you wish to embed or share a video in Arabic, it must include English subtitles to ensure that all members of the community can understand the content.
2. Respect and Integrity
- Treat all members with respect, regardless of their opinions or background. Healthy debate is encouraged, but personal attacks, insults, or derogatory language will not be tolerated.
- Constructive feedback is welcomed and encouraged, both toward Wolf of Sinai projects and the work of others. If you are not ready to receive constructive feedback, we suggest refraining from posting your work until you feel comfortable doing so.
3. Prohibited and Harmful Content
Wolf of Sinai is committed to maintaining a respectful, safe, and educational environment for all users. The following types of content are strictly prohibited:
- Violent or Threatening Content: Any content that glorifies violence, promotes harm or threats toward others, or encourages illegal activity will be removed immediately.
- Harassment or Bullying: Content that targets, harasses, or bullies other users based on personal attributes or views will not be tolerated. This includes personal attacks, name-calling, and coordinated harassment.
- Hate Speech and Discrimination: Any content that promotes hatred or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other personal attribute is strictly prohibited. This includes inflammatory remarks, slurs, and stereotypes.
- Explicit or Obscene Content: Posts that contain explicit language, sexual content, or obscene material are not permitted. Wolf of Sinai is a community for all ages, so content should remain family-friendly.
- Content Promoting Future Violence or War: Content that promotes or advocates for future violence or war against potential future enemies is not allowed.
- Example of Not Accepted: Advocating for or encouraging war against Ethiopia over current political tensions.
- Example of Accepted: Expressing pride in past victories, such as Egypt’s war against Israel, is allowed as long as it does not incite future violence or hostility.
- Misinformation or Disinformation: Any deliberate spread of false or misleading information, especially regarding historical facts or current events, will be flagged and removed. Wolf of Sinai is an educational platform, and accuracy is essential to our community.
- Illegal Activities: Content that promotes illegal activities, including hacking, unauthorized use of intellectual property, or distribution of illicit materials, is prohibited.
- Malware or Phishing Links: Any attempt to share malicious software, phishing links, or harmful programs that could endanger the security of users or the website is forbidden.
- Content Promoting Self-Harm or Harm to Others: Posts or comments that glorify, encourage, or promote self-harm, suicide, or harm to others will be removed and reported to relevant authorities if necessary.
4. Intellectual Property
At Wolf of Sinai, we respect the intellectual property rights of all creators and expect the same from our community members. The following rules apply to the use and sharing of content on this platform:
- Original Content Only: You may only upload or share content (including but not limited to images, videos, music, and written work) that you have created or that you have permission to share. This includes ensuring that you hold the appropriate rights, licenses, or permissions to distribute the content on the Wolf of Sinai platform.
- No Unauthorized Sharing: Posting or linking to content that you do not own or do not have permission to share is strictly prohibited. This includes copyrighted content such as music, videos, articles, and images that belong to third parties, unless you are linking directly to the original creator’s platform.
- YouTube and External Links: You may post links to content that does not belong to you only if the link leads directly to the original creator’s platform (e.g., their official YouTube channel, website, etc.), and not to an unauthorized or infringing source.
- Simply giving credit is not sufficient: Any link to third-party content must lead directly back to the creator’s original work or platform. Unauthorized sharing of content, even with proper credit, will be considered copyright infringement.
- Do Not Repost: Do not upload or directly share any content that you do not have the rights to distribute. Simply providing credit is not enough if you do not have explicit permission from the owner to repost the content.
- Respect for Licensed Material: If any content you share is licensed (e.g., creative commons), ensure that the license allows for public sharing and that you follow any license terms, such as attribution requirements.
- Copyright Infringement: Posting or sharing copyrighted material without permission will be considered a violation of our rules. This includes but is not limited to:
- Uploading videos, music, or images that are protected by copyright without permission.
- Sharing links to illegally hosted content (e.g., pirated media or articles copied without authorization).
- Consequences of Violation: Any violation of intellectual property rights will result in the immediate removal of the content and may lead to an account suspension or permanent ban from the platform. In cases of clear copyright infringement, users may be banned after the first offense, at the discretion of Wolf of Sinai.
5. Stay On Topic
Please ensure that your posts and comments remain relevant to the specific topic of the thread. If you wish to discuss something unrelated, feel free to start a new topic in its designated section.
6. Advertisements in the Specified Section Only
At Wolf of Sinai, we allow advertisements under specific guidelines to ensure that the community remains focused on its educational and creative goals. The following rules clarify what is considered an advertisement and where it may be posted:
What Is Considered an Advertisement:
- Selling Goods or Services: Any post that promotes products or services for sale, whether digital or physical, is considered an advertisement. This includes but is not limited to:
- Merchandise related to Egypt’s history (e.g., books, apparel, memorabilia).
- Paid services such as tutoring, educational programs, or content creation services.
- Promoting Paid Content: Any content that requires payment to access or use, including paid subscriptions, access to premium content, or ticketed events.
- Soliciting Business: Posts aimed at driving traffic to businesses, including personal businesses, online stores, or professional services (e.g., offering website design, marketing services).
- Affiliate Links and Referrals: Any post containing affiliate links or referral codes intended to generate income or benefits for the poster.
What Is Not Considered an Advertisement:
- Sharing Educational Content: If you are sharing non-commercial content that aligns with the mission of Wolf of Sinai, such as a free-to-access article, video, or educational resource related to Egypt’s history, it is not considered an advertisement as long as there is no financial transaction involved.
- Promoting Personal Creative Work (Non-Monetary): If you are sharing personal creative works, such as music, videos, or artwork, for the sake of community engagement or feedback (and not for sale), this is not considered an advertisement.
- Note: If the work is tied to any financial transaction or subscription model (e.g., promoting an album for sale), it must be posted in the Advertisements Section.
Guidelines for Posting Advertisements:
- Advertisements must be posted only in the designated Advertisements Section.
- All advertisements must follow Wolf of Sinai’s rules regarding respectful language and family-friendly content.
- Any advertisement deemed inappropriate, misleading, or violating copyright will be removed immediately.
- All advertisements must follow our Advertisements Rules and Regulations.
7. No Politics
Wolf of Sinai is an educational platform focused on celebrating and exploring Egypt’s history and culture. To maintain a respectful and educational environment, political discussions are generally not permitted. This ensures that the community stays focused on learning and creative contributions, and avoids unnecessary conflict or divisiveness. The following guidelines apply to political content:
What Is Not Allowed:
- Political Commentary or Debate: Posts or comments expressing political opinions, ideologies, or debates about current events, political parties, or government actions are prohibited.
- Example: “Our government should be doing more to help other countries in the region.” This introduces political debate and is not allowed.
- Relating Historical Events to Modern Politics: While Wolf of Sinai covers Egypt’s rich history, attempts to draw direct comparisons to current political events or leaders are not allowed.
- Example: “The way Egypt handled ancient conflicts should be applied to our modern-day disputes.” This comment invites political debate and diverts from the historical focus.
- Global Political Issues: Discussions around international politics, foreign policy, or issues involving other nations outside of historical contexts are not permitted.
- Example: “The international community should focus on dealing with conflict in the Middle East.” This comment shifts the conversation to modern politics, which is against the rules.
What Is Allowed:
- Pride in Historical Events: Expressing pride in Egypt’s historical achievements is allowed, as long as it remains focused on the past and does not advocate for future political actions.
- Example: “I’m proud of Egypt’s achievements in the 1973 war.” This is a reflection on historical events and does not incite political debate.
- Sharing Educational Information: Discussions that revolve around the historical, cultural, and factual aspects of Egypt’s history are welcome, as long as they do not connect to modern political issues.
Why We Avoid Political Discussions:
- Educational Focus: The purpose of Wolf of Sinai is to provide an educational and creative platform. Political debates can detract from this focus and create unnecessary division.
- Family-Friendly Environment: Wolf of Sinai is intended for users of all ages. Political discussions often become heated and may not be appropriate for younger audiences.
8. Reporting Violations
If you encounter any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to the moderators. We take all reports seriously and will address violations accordingly.
9. Consequences for Violations
Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans, depending on the severity of the violation.
10. Disclaimer
The Wolf of Sinai forums are public, and contributions are made by individuals from the community. Wolf of Sinai does not take responsibility for any content posted by members, including moderators, unless explicitly posted by an admin or the owner. For more information, please refer to our Full Disclaimer.
11. Common Sense
While the Wolf of Sinai Code of Conduct provides clear guidelines for how we expect the community to interact and engage, not every situation can be explicitly covered in these rules. We ask all members to apply common sense when participating in the community.
- Using Your Best Judgment: Just because a specific action is not mentioned in the Code of Conduct does not mean it is automatically acceptable. We expect all users to act in good faith and with respect for others, following the spirit of the rules even when specifics are not provided.
- When in Doubt: If you’re unsure whether something is appropriate or aligns with our guidelines, consider whether it fosters a positive, respectful, and educational environment. When in doubt, you are always welcome to reach out to a moderator or an official staff member for clarification
12. Updates and Revisions
This Code of Conduct may be updated as the community grows and evolves. Be sure to check back regularly to stay informed of any changes.
Remember: We’re all here to learn, create, and celebrate Egypt’s history together. Let’s keep this community respectful, creative, and welcoming!
